As of my posting the 4th floor is done. Makes sense they stated they plan on breaking ground on the Condos by the Fall of this year so they must be planning on the hotel portion being mostly complete by the end of summer, at this rate it will be topped out by August.

Thanks for the pictures. I can really see the curved corner from street level- it's less apparent from the construction camera. Looks like it'll be nice.

It looks like the facade is being installed on the hotel. From the tiny portion on there now it looks underwhelming.

What was your expectation on how it would look?

We've all seen the hotel renderings and the façade looks fine.

I believe the hotel is topped out!

Hopefully the apartment building will break ground soon.

Once the use for the current crane is no longer needed will it be removed or will it just swing over and be used on the apartment tower?

I think that crane is way too short for the apartments. Another project to be excited about but the only thing about the apartments, anybody look at it and say, shouldn't the curve be up against Central Ave. Why would the curve be in the same direction as the hotel. It looks real good with the hotel with the curve from 1st ST but that same look should go on with the apartments and Central. Any thoughts?

This one looks like it's essentially topped out.

Pretty much. The façade will extend 1 more story to hide all the HVAC/elevator equipment. This has turned out to be a great fill building. I can't wait for big brother to get started!

Was there any mention of there being retail or a lobby restaurant/bar? Or will it mostly be for a giant ass lobby and gym?

Looks like at least a bar based on the Mortenson blurb

http://www.mortenson.com/phoenix/pro...inn-and-suites

"The Hampton Inn and Suites is a 11-story, 210-key limited-service hotel located at Polk Street and 1st Street in downtown Phoenix. The hotel will feature a bar and lounge, business center, meeting space, fitness center and food service. Additionally, local art will be displayed."

I've never seen a Hampton Inn with a full service restaurant -- usually just a small dining area for continental breakfast. The bar surprises me. I don't think I've seen many Hamton Inns with those either.

Does anyone have any way of getting info on the residential portion of this project? The initial news release said breaking ground in the 4th quarter of 2017. I just looked on the Phoenix building permits page under the Central Park East project number (06-1166) and no new permits are showing up.

Also, is there any way Obadano or a moderator can edit the first post to put the City of Phoenix project number in it for easy reference?
