Beautiful. How are prices there compared to a place like London?

Rents are obviously a lot cheaper than London, though York is one of the most expensive cities in Northern England. Typical/average one bedroom apartment in the city centre is around £700 ($900) per month.

York is popular with tourists so I'm sure it has its share of overpriced tourist-trap restaurants and stores but equally i'm sure if you lived there you would soon learn which those were to avoid them.

York cheap eats suggestions...

Quick comparison from numbeo.com, not 100% accurate I know but it gives a general idea..

You visited almost the same cities as me! I visited in early April (Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York), but it was sunny all the time in York. This is the most beautiful city I have visited in England.

I did Birmingham, Warwick, Chester, Liverpool, Bristol, Bath, Salisbury, Winchester, Oxford, Shrewsbury, Worcester, Cambridge, Ely, Peterborough, Stamford and York!

I could not officially state on the most beautiful one..

Had a very special personal crush on Bristol and Winchester.

Alright, you visited lots of more then me.
I only visited big cities except for York, so not much of the beautiful historical smaller cities. But the big cities were really cool, and partly beautiful as well. Originally planned to visit Cardiff (Wales), Nottingham and Sheffield as well, but decided it would be too much for one week. How long did you stay in England?
