MOSCOW | 16 IBC | 328 m | 85 floors | UC

It seems there is no thread for this tower yet, at least google can't find it and it doesn't appear in Moscow's diagram.

So here it is:

Plot 16

Moscow, Russia

Plot 16 is part of the thriving Moscow City zone located between the new Expo Center and the Third Ring Road. The new district, loosely modeled on precedents such as London’s Canary Wharf and La Défense in Paris, will eventually play a vital role in the commercial and social life of the metropolitan region. The elegant towers, gradually tapering away from each other as they stretch skyward, draw inspiration from the Moscow skyline, the climate of the region, and their prime site on Krasnopresneskaya Embankment.

Project Facts

Completion Year: 2012
Site Area: 2.50 hectares
Project Area: 459,856 m2
Building Height: 327.25 m
Number of Stories: 85

Tall and glassy. Looks good, at least in renders. It'll be all about the glass though.

i agree, which is why i'm worried! i absolutely love the design of moscow's new cbd and all the buildings fit in together perfectly, but it seems like many of them use ugly 1980's lookin' glass. hello? keep up with the times ad your designs.

the best and minimally accepted glass imo is the one on the twin towers with the spire connecting them (forgot what they're called but they can be seen on the last picture all lit up).

They should finish their currently stalled projects like Federation Tower before moving on to new, massive proposals.

Who are "they" you are talking about? Please tell me you are not one of those people who think skyscrapers are being built on money from city budget.

In Moscow's IBC, they are. This complex of towers is developed and funded by the same general network of organizations, permitted by special zoning and encouraged by the city government. That's what I meant when I said "they". Please tell me you are not one of those people who think skyscrapers are being built on the exact same budget structure in every city in the world.

The entire complex is organised by a same network of organizations, but not funded by it. Funding for each project is provided by different investors and developers, and there is little reason for Capital Group building Plot 16 to care about what happens to projects of Mirax Group.

Well, I wish them the best, it's a great looking project, but with the recent slowdown at the IBC, I just hope they have the funds to pull through.

Thanks for the update, Gamma-Hamster. I moved this to the supertall construction forum. Any updates on the surrounding towers?
