The line at Tim's was twice as long today...once I got a bit closer I saw the reason why. It's back. This gimmick must seriously be one of the most effective marketing techniques in the world.

Meanwhile, McDerps has $1 any size coffee to compete.

That's a win right there.

I've saved $6 so far by drinking the free coffee at work.

3 of them were extra large to keep me awake after work.

I dont think Ive ever had an extra large that won anything.

Same here, my track record is loss-free this year, and I intend to keep it that way

Lately, I've been averaging a handful of Tim's coffee per year, but for the past few months it's been down to zero, and I think that trend will be continuing.

The silly regulations have made it such that the small cups win more often than the XL.

2 for 2 (free donut and latee)

Both coffees were small, and both bought at different times yesterday.

0/6. I'm likely getting close to a record losing streak, I've usually at least won a free donut by now.

EDIT: I just read through the entire thread. We've been talking about this contest since Charlie Sheen's meltdown (which was referenced in one of the first posts).

^Dear Molson,

Why? I have to ask why do you go to Tim Hortons? It's always the same lacking-quality experience for you. What's the attraction? Rubbing elbows with the creme de la creme of London? Chatting with your favourite employee? The smell?

Sincerely,

Wanting to know

on campus, there are other options, but they are decidedly far from my office. I don't pass other options on my way to work...whether I bike, walk, or drive. There are, however 17 Tim Horton's on campus. I shit ye not.

Besides I can't justify $4 for a Fourbucks coffee (we have 3 of those on campus), but I can cough up $2 for my daily Tim swill. Warm water to get me through teaching the early morning class.

Convenience. 17 outlets!?! Are you sure you don't go through some space-time continuum when you hit the campus boundary and end up in Moncton?
