I love me some Portland and this amazing set of pix really shows it off, way to go!!One of the things that I have been jealous of Ptown's dt (other than the many rail options, we needed those years ago,,,,grrrr, its hard living in Texas under the republican nightmare) are the public spaces (plazas if you will). We have great parks/open spaces close to dt but the parks within the dt limits are pretty lame. Fortunately in the next few years that will all be changing,,,come shoot my fair city next Derek!!!

that's some good eatin' there, big d. nice attention to transit and little details like this'n:

love the astoria and hood shots too.

also, censorship drives me nuts. it's fucking 2012. if you're going to call your business "BIG ASS SANDWICHES", do it. don't call it "BIG A** SANDWICHES" and put it on me to figure out that you mean ASS. "oh, do you mean BIG APE SANDWICHES? BIG ANT SANDWICHES? MMM, I LOVE BIG ANTS." their sandwiches could come with a bl** job and i still wouldn't dine there, on principle.

Perhaps one day I will be able to travel more and make it down there. There's some other cities I'd like to see first though, and they're in Europe.

It IS Big-Ass Sandwiches

We ARE Big-Ass Sandwiches, everywhere but that sign...on our site, our shirts, our menu, etc. You should direct your anger towards our landlords who refuse to let us use our full name because they deem it offensive. But thanks for not doing any research and adding a bunch of assumptive snark.

Did you do Google search on your name or something? Calm yourself.

Jesus. I'm not sure if you're actually with Big Ass Sandwiches or not, but I still love your sandwiches.

Photog friend sent the link. A fair response to an uninformed post berating a place for censorship followed by the comment that they'll never eat there because of it.

Have a good day!

HAHA. credit where it's due: you're a defender of the ass to a point of registering on an internet message board to stand up for it. also credit for good use of the hyphen. big difference between "big-ass sandwich" and "big ass sandwich".

i'll admit that my comment was uninformed -- i saw a picture on an internet message board and commented on it on an internet message board. i now see that you make ample use of ass. that doesn't change the fact that it's off putting that your sign says a**, when the sign is the first thing people see. a conversation for your landlord, perhaps, but it's still true.

anyway, i take back the "i'll never dine there" comment. i'm a man of principle but even principle sometimes act in haste.

It's been abnormally warm and sunny lately, a little too warm for my liking...Oh well, more Portland!

Also, I didn't like my last edit of Mt. Hood, so here's a new edit. Meh. It's better but whatever, I think the lighting conditions were too bright that day.

Correct, although a bit pricey for what they were. Still nice pieces of art though.
