Is that sunlight hitting the tower or is that an actual transitioning to silver?
And if scenario #2, will there be a corresponding shift to gold on (what I'm assuming to be) the East river side? I.e. swapping the color effect shown here?

To clarify, I'm referring in the original pic I cited to the sides of the tower's main "shaft" above the setbacks. It looks like either reflected sunlight or the change to silver.
It's obvious about the color transitions where they are.
^You're right it's hard to read that photograph, it sure does look silver there. In several photos of the North/South elevations, it also looks like the center section transitions from pewter gray to black at the top. Mind games here
