Apparently Brule just needs to pass a physical, which he is fully expected to.

Obviously we're trying to dump salary to sign a big name free agent We wouldn't just trade Regehr for nothing.

I'm hanging on to the same false hope we all thought when we heard who Phaneuf was traded for. There must be a third team involved somewhere!! lol

Funny the Kings just intend to buy-out Brule. I thought he was pretty decent. He gets really good in NHL11

Your a terrible GM Feaster. You reached Sutter level.
Fixed that for you.

What a crap deal Feaster Made, though I'm thrilled Kotalik is gone. Good to see Tanguay get signed, and for a pretty good price too.

Not too happy to see Reggie gone, but the Flames did manage to dump 7 million in salary, get younger, AND sign Tanguay to a long term deal, so it's not all bad.

huh? It wasn't a great trade but it was a good dump of salary spent on an ever so getting older and slower defenseman. We now signed Tanguay and have some cap room for another signing. The only thing I'm not excited about is Butler... he was key in the Buffalo series loss to Philly!

Feaster getting ready for Richarrrrdddsss

Yikes, Iginla and a healthy Richards would be a deadly combo....

I'm not too sure how much space Calgary has but they can spend 10% over the cap(before season starts) and after signing someone like richards can try to clear further space by shipping away Hagman.

Richards has already said he doesn't want to play in a "hockey market". That's a bit of a WTF head scratcher, but whatever.

Give the Flames a few more years down their current road and we might be putting a tarp over 4000 seats again and calling 15,000 a sellout, again, though.

Up until playoffs in 2004 lol

Back when the Flames actually sold the away teams merchandise in the stores on the concourse.

For awhile Calgary and Edmonton were both threatening to relocate~ Calgary if they couldn't average 14,000 per game.

Then why does he have Toronto on his "preferred cities"

And Vancouver was one of the cities he would waive his NTC to go to, the Canucks almost had a deal for him but Tampa opted for Dallas offer (Smith back then was considered better than Schieder)

Luc Bourdon
Corey Schneider
First-round draft choice
Second-round draft choice

Smyth now officially an Oiler!! Oilers/Kings websites both confirm

Apparently its colin fraser and a 7th to the Kings for Smyth.

Feaster could have at least tried to get Luke Adam or Mcnabb in the trade, but he went for some under players that might not make it to the NHL.

I don't know if he does, or if the Toronto media somehow thought he does.

As for Vancouver, I guess it's similar enough to somewhere nice like Florida lol We have palm trees, right?

Anyway, he's refused to waive his NTC not once, but twice.

WRT Ryan Smyth, Fraser is a better pickup for the Kings than a bought out Brule.

The Flames don't seem to understand that you need to go for the Cup or the lottery.

Dorking around with piecemeal signings and trading underachievers for more underachievers accomplishes nothing, except maybe wasting the rest of Iginla and Kipper's careers chasing the 7th or 8th spots.

Well, the Flames had no draft picks at all last year, so sucking intentionally wouldn't have been a good idea.

We historically draft VERY poorly, anyways. In the last 20 years the Flames have traded OUT of the first round more often than not.

Hopefully this Swiss guy is alright.

Major conference realignment coming in 2012 - 2013 supposedly, with Detroit, Columbus, and Nashville possibly switching to the East.

They want 4 divisions; 2 with 8 teams, 2 with 7 teams.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6706113

Obviously that would leave room for expanding to Quebec City and somewhere else lol

4 divisions seems weird, must be anticipating an expansion. I like the way it is now with the 6 divisions.
