Redesign CC3 please: mediocre dated Vancouver-style building.

I gotta agree. I passed by the plaza and buildings to be torn down for this proposal just today......just reminds me of what a nice piece of the Financial District would be gone for this tower. It's a great architectural gem, and the plaza is an intimate and welcoming spot for events that occur there fairly often.

I at least wish they'd slim down the tower and try to retain some of the architectural/general design elements from what's currently there.

Only Vancouver has nothing even close to this height or density. Beyond that, I think the tower has huge potential. One of those ones that will likely gain popularity once built.

Supertall number 2 is on the way.

2 supertalls on the top 10, will be a proud day.

one tower is 95 floors (supertall - 308 meters)
the other tower is 80 floors

read the story on UT

http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2018/07/...nd-3-one-yonge

because they are already excavating the site, these could go under construction at anytime.

I'm not feeling optimistic about this project, but at least they're filling in that parking lot.

I think everyone knows the height and density doesn't literally translate to Vancouver. I agree with the rest. It's tall. That's all it needs to be. I do think future generation may look upon our generation with the same contempt as we look upon the block busting of the 1960s and 1970s. We're still a pubescent growing city. Hopefully, one day arrives where we aren't constantly renewing are urban environments for additional density.

Architecturally, it should turn out alright. I have zero confidence in the community/ neighbourhood feel. Big win for the skyline.

I finally figured out why these towers were looking so familiar... they're kind of like the Walmart brand version of these:

Still a pretty nice addition to the skyline - though I don't see the point in having balconies up to the 80th and 95th floors. I can't imagine they'd be too popular with residents, and the design would be a lot cleaner without.

I always thought they were knock-offs of the two big Hong Kong towers, IFC and ICC.
