TNS reminds me a lot of the Nova Centre, kind of a Winnipeg iteration of the same overall concept, I think the hotels are even the same brand. In the same way Remai Modern in Sask reminds me a lot of the Halifax Central Library.

Yes they will both have a Sutton Place hotel, either of the first two building of TNS are the hotel though, Sutton Place hotel and the Sutton La Grande Résidence should be starting construction across the street at site 2 imminently.

Here are a couple more angles of the towers at Brentwood in Burnaby. In the first pic (looking north, posted by Ricc) tower #1 and #2 are on the right. I presume it was taken from Metrotown. Around the centre of that pic will eventually be Metro Vancouver's tallest, Gilmore Place.

The last pic below is looking south on Willingdon.

Davie Street in Vancouver's West End, looking towards English Bay. In this pic you can see cranes for:

-English Bay Residences at 1688 Davie St. (former London Drugs parking lot)

-1188 Bidwell St.

-1661 Davie St. (two towers on former Safeway site)

-1754 Pendrell St.

The number of cranes along this way could double with more developments at:

-Mirabel (two towers) at 1345 Davie St.

-1485 Davie St.

-1188 Cardero

-Gabriola Mansion (aka Rogers Mansion) at Nicola and Davie

-SE corner of Denman and Davie

A panorama of Edmonton's skyline from the north side. The crane visible on the far right of the photo is where MacLaren Tower is being built. This gives you an idea of how large Edmonton's urban footprint is.

MacEwan University SAMU under construction. This building expansion will take over what used to be green space between the existing building and the sidewalk, making the area feel more urban.

The new cladding on the Stanley Milner Library renovation in downtown appears to be brown. I am having an impossible time trying to like this building so far.

Core samples and preparations are underway for construction of Emerald Tower.

Building renovation underway in the Brewery District, a power centre near downtown. Notice the awful blank wall of the back side of the power centre that faces a bike path.

The former light industrial area beside the Brewery District has had all streets and sidewalks redone last summer. The area no longer feels like an industrial area.

This building is under construction just across the street from the Brewery District.

Edmonton July 6, 2018 by Thomas Huizinga, on Flickr
Building under construction, as mentioned above. Note that the square shaped building takes up almost an entire block.

Looking south down 124th street you see MacLaren Tower under construction in the distance.

Edmonton July 6, 2018 by Thomas Huizinga, on Flickr
Getting closer makes it easy to see that MacLaren will demand attention when complete.

There are still some vacant lots to fill up but looks a 1000 times better than it looked 18 years ago.
