The podium will be the most beautiful section of the tower to look at once it gets completed, the current design calls for different sets of LEDs of varying colors to be installed just below the yet-to-come glass fins.

Yea i definitley was not saying that it won't be beautiful, but i might disagree with you about it being the most beautiful part. But who knows, when it's finished maybe ill agree with you, but from the renderings its not the number one for me, but it is up there. And i didn't know they were going to put lights behind the panels, that's gonna look so cool especially behind that foggy glass.

The steel erection for the Trans. Hub took me by surprise - wonderful to see!

I love the reflection off of 7 WTC . . .

I remember in the old Twin Tower lobbies there were dozens of national flags from all over the world. That'd be cool if they did that with 1 WTC, does anyone know if that's planned?

Nope. The lobby is supposed to look like this. Credits to the Port Authority and etc.

Is it just because the glass hasn't been installed?... Or? Is it just an illusion or the angle?
Dimensionally it looks like the old WTC (box) from the North, South, East and West but from the North East, North West, South East and South West it is an Obelisk.

I wish they had designed the lobby a bit more ornate and colorful. As it is, it's very cold and forbidding... really, like a marble mausoleum.

Yea i was thinking the same thing, it almost looks too perfect in structure and color that it loses it's human quality.

The lobby is designed to highlight objects in the space rather than the space itself. You'll get it with these two renderings, first one doesn't have paintings, second one does.

I disagree, I think the lobby, will be quite impressive and highlight the structural features and the large modern art pieces will provide color and I'm sure there will be interactive things too, and signs for the Observation Deck on the top floors. Once completed and you see it in person, I am sure it will be quite nice and visually interesting!

Still Otie the lobby for the Twin Towers looked much better.

When the new one is finished, the finished product will look better than the conceptual shot. It'll look just as good as the old one.

They could do that, but not in the exact same way. The lobby will have to be lively to help the fact that it is pretty bland.

i get why but it would be nice if this gorgeous structure didn't have to be always compared to the Twins, but, i guess it's inevitable
