some news, some photos, some cr*p, some good stuff.

Found the following news snippets;

Engineering news on 19th Feb reports a possible start to curtain construction in May, and is the first(?) report that building completion may extend past Dec 2008.
http://enr.ecnext.com/free-scripts/c...=nebuar070219b

A claim that the opening has been delayed until June 2009. Plus a couple of photos that I have not seen yet.....
http://donforlife.blogspot.com/2007/...continues.html

Old news - all seen before
http://www.dubaichronicle.com/2007/0...its-snags.html

No news, just a good photo...
http://www.shurpa.net/update/?p=482

Nice report - again predicting a 2009 completion date - American.com 23rd Feb 07.
http://www.american.com/archive/2007...ust-for-height

blog with a scary photo through power cables...(not much content though)
http://cairogal.blogspot.com/2007/02/burj-dubai.html

This blog shows a render - possibly featured on this thread a long time ago, the difference here is that the render seems to show BD at approx 14km high!
http://www.neatorama.com/2007/02/24/...p-skyscrapers/
(included for fun only)

A thread which includes many photos by Imre, but a new one 'linking' an aerial photo to a render which I thought was pretty cool, and had not seen before.
http://www.bakwaas.tv/showthread.php?t=8988

a couple of new photos on a blog showing the roundabout nearby
http://gilberts-diaries.blogspot.com...marrakech.html

Regards to you all.

Love how the wings are catching up. Puts the building more in perspective width wise.

CN Tower

On what date will Burj exceed Toronto's CN Tower in height at 553 m (1822 feet)? There should be a ceremony to mark Burj becoming the tallest self-supporting structure on Earth (as opposed to guyed wired TV masts). A ceremony like that should be carried live on TV.

It will however be a sad day for Toronto

Thanks for the links Johnawalsh, keep posting these little nuggets cos sometimes there are things we haven't seen before here. Not sure about the video though, the first couple of minutes I watched was just a water park video on dolphins! (NOTE): Smilies, bold text etc are currently disabled but should be returning after a few tweaks later on this evening!

Greg Sang will talk in Sao Paolo on 15th Mar.

Im afraid thats all the new stuff I could find tonight.

I have a LOAD (well maybe a few anyway) of original pics from a mate who went in Oct 06, when BD was at 78-80 floors or so - but I cant seem to insert piccies. Any chance of a quick tutorial -or can someone show me where to look on the board to see how to insert pics? Thanks
