Permit going to council tonight for an additional sign at the top of the building facing King George.

I believe the sign is for Safe Software.

From the report:
  • The "City Centre 2" development is currently under construction, with the pouring of the fifth floor underway. The developer is aiming for completion in 2017.
  • The owner, Lark Group, has recently sold the top four (4) floors of the building to a software company. The new occupant has requested a fascia sign on the top of the building facing King George Boulevard, as it has the most favourable exposure.
  • The new sign will identify a major tenant occupying the top four (4) floors of the building to those travelling along King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue.

The sign is for Safe Software New Location here . Pretty cool as they have a large footprint around North America.

There's a video with some 3D model fly overs of the district and City Centre.

Thanks!
That shows the other towers in the "8".
The ones near Fraser Hwy look really short across from King George Station.

Yeah, but they are likely just placeholders, but then again they are shown in the same darker colour as other 'known' buildings. Maybe there has been some preliminary design work done for them already. They look to be about the same height as the first 3 Lark Group towers (8-12 storeys). At that height they interface well with Phase B of the Hub - 12-Storey residential on Fraser Hwy and 15-storey office podium at Fraser and KGB.

Gives a rough idea of how this district will blend into the King George District eventually anyway.

Just walked by today on the East side they are actually above the podium glass wise. I think a few floors up on the side and were putting 2 more panels in while I was walking by. Also the South side facing building 1 is more finished then the face we see (North).

Was at the Hospital on the weekend, this is from the dirt parking lot (poised to be building 3 of this project) on 96th looking at the building from the side you can't see from the photo above.

Coming along nicely, and it really underlines the contrast between urban tower + sidewalks and streetscape vs just a block north and 1) no sidewalks, 2) rundown houses, and 3) dirt everywhere. Going to be really nice when the full 8 tower+ build out of this project makes its way through the area toward Fraser Highway.

Click for full size and yes it was that smokey/hazy when I took the photo.

Thanks!

It has the same vertical fins as Phase 1 - so that's a nice tie-in.
