If you indeed wanted a much taller tower, wouldn't it be better to keep it in the current proposed location so that it adds to the majesty of the SLC skyline and so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb?

If that did get built it certainly would make a mark on the skyline. There is pretty much nothing between 100 and 200 South.

Salt Lake City Resorts

Top 41 Places To Go For 2011

http://travel.nytimes.com/2011/01/09...pagewanted=all

#9. Park City, Utah

9. Park City, Utah
Beyond the film festival, a growing group of top-tier resorts.

Many film aficionados have been lured to Park City for the annual Sundance festival, missing the slopes entirely, which is a shame. This year, new hotels, expanded terrain and events at area ski resorts make on-mountain exploration imperative. Last month, at Deer Valley, Montage opened a 220-room Craftsman-style midmountain lodge ; it offers ski-in, ski-out access, gas fireplaces in every room, and a spa.

Other recent openings include the St. Regis Deer Crest, the Waldorf Astoria Park City and the Hyatt Escala Lodge.

Over at the Canyons Resort, 300 acres of new skiing and snowboarding terrain includes 10 new trails that range from intermediate to expert gladed tree runs. The resort is also introducing what’s billed as the first heated chair lift in North America and opening an après-ski “beach,” an outdoor gathering place with beach-style lounge chairs, food and cocktail stations and expansive views of the mountainside.

Tourism is definitely increasing. The crowds this year for Sundance and the Outdoor Retailers convention is definitely much higher than last year. The airport has been packed for the last two weeks.

What is typically a very slow part of the year for the majority of the country is a goldmine for local tourism.

I really like Gallivan Plaza. Looks like a place where people are going to hang out. The more foot traffic the better

Another picture taken today. This is my first time using effects on a photo and now the sky color is totally grossing me out.

the Brook's Arcade so beautifully.

I was also looking at the pics you took just above of the developing City Creek Waterfalls. I continue to be amazed
and overjoyed at the quality of these downtown projects. What an incredible legacy they will leave for the
coming generations. How absolutely beautiful Salt Lake City is becoming! I will be in L.A. full time soon. I love L.A.,
but will miss Salt Lake Metro. Hopefully, I will have the opportunities to return often.

I think the pink area around the top of the library is going to be covered in copper panels.

I also took a photo of the fairly new, VERY nice looking Magna Senior Center.

"We're feeling really good about the library and everybody who goes by
will see what the library is like," she said. The roofline is completed and
the curves and angles of the building have been revealed in structural

Faces of Salt Lake City/County's Millcreek Neighborhoods - A look at the four communities that could become one, big city.

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/home/51...ount.html.csp#

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Jeff Silvestrini, the chair of the Mount. Olympus neighborhood, has been involved with the community council for 17 years. We feature the four distinct communities of Millcreek - Mt. Olympus, Canyon Rim, East Millcreek and Millcreek - and the people who oversee them such as Silvestrini.

It ascends the slopes of Mount Olympus, meanders along still-wooded sections of Mill Creek, wraps around the rim of Parley’s Historic Nature Park and stretches through industrial parks to the Jordan River.

This is Millcreek, an unincorporated suburb in Salt Lake County and home to four distinct communities: Mount Olympus, Canyon Rim, East Millcreek and Millcreek.

Combined, those neighborhoods have about 62,000 people. If it were a city, it would be the county’s fifth largest and rank among the state’s top 10.

Now, an effort is under way to make Millcreek a city, the county’s 17th. Today, The Salt Lake Tribune introduces you to this township through the eyes of the people who lead those four communities...
