I hope they're still coming . . The bit of heretical masonry here,
slightly garnishes the overly glazed neighborhood . . a refreshing change . .
35 HY's dignified proportions, are an eloquent anecdote
to the boorish tchotchke, that is the vulgar visual of the vessel . . .

Hypothetical:

How many of you would have considered the idea of having the tower's street-level undulation as shown above run up the full or rear-full height of the structure?

IMO, in the abstract, this tower would cross the threshold of phenomenal.

While I'm at it, is it plausible to suggest that that the architects could/would have done this were it not for value engineering considerations?

This is about the 10th version of this tower, so its hard to say. But they clearly wanted the tower to transition into glass.

Yes, I think that would have looked stunning in the sky and really elevated the skyline view of the whole group of Hudson Yard towers. The feasibility and additional cost it would have entailed, I can't say. I think the Hudson Yards are shaping up to excel at street level but will be just average as far as the cumulative skyline they create.

Approximately 2 minutes and about 27 seconds later, I was stuck at an intersection for 15 minutes in a gridlock fiesta towards the Lincoln Tunnel. While the towers might be pretty, seeing the light turn green, and remain in a state of suspension is not!

While all of these towers rise, lets not forget about the gridlock is causes. Its often a side effect of growth, but one that I think the development conscious will accept with humility.

35 HY would have made an incredible WTC building. Looks like a modern version of our lost twins. Actually looks like a more proper NYC building than either twins, because of the setbacks mostly.

That’s true, but how do you convince Larry that a better design would improve his chances of securing an anchor tenant?
