Fantasy Renders

I thought it would be cool for all of us to share our renders of our fair cities. I may post it on the National Thread, but for now I would rather a thread that wouldn't get clogged up with Toronto related discussions. So what kind of stuff have people created? I will start with my first ever project.

Bon Aventure Portage

-281 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
-Requires Demolition of Dollarama
-Requires Demolition of Mountain Equipment Building.
-Does not require Demolition of the sterling Building.

-25 Floors (Including Mechanical)
-3 Floor Podium
-8 Floors Office
-8 Floors Residential
-5 Mechanical (Including Rooftop)
-1 Floor Observation and Restaurant (24th Floor)

-320' (98M) Pinnacle
-12' 9'' Floor to Floor Height
-10'-12' Floor to Ceiling Height

-Exposed Ceiling Utilities
-Air Cooling and Heating under raised floor
-Geothermal Heating and Cooling
-Double layered Facade (Depending on Developer)
-Mix Use (Office, Public Use, and Residential)
-Glass and Tyndall Facade
-Glass Facade Framing: 0' 4'' Depth x 0' 2'' Width
-5 Planted Grass Rooftops, I Solar Panel Rooftop

Note: This is my first time using sketch-up so I am extremely slow. It has taken me two weeks to create this building. I have many frustrations, especially regarding the facade and its particular angles. It is currently unfinished. I will post more updated photo's later on.
I am also not an Architect, so if anyone is any tips, questions, concerns, problems that can be seen and remedies would be extremely helpful. Especially concerning regulations. ie. Fire escapes, Elevators, and Stairways. Also any concerns about support columns and their quantity, thickness, and location would be appreciated. Personally I think I overdid it on the supports and would like to remove some if it is possible.

Podium:

Hope its not a stretch, but what about your fantasy downtown? What would you transplant or like to see built here?

For me, a couple of additions to the Winnipeg skyline would include this across from Canada Post / WPS on Graham:

The triangular lot at Ellice, Smith and Notre Dame:

This, perhaps atop the Curry Building:

This I would put beside Cityplace, across from CTV...

https://community.emporis.com/images.../10/564220.jpg

Non-building related, I want to see more of this in our downtown: pedestrian only streets. I would redevelop Portage Ave East from Main Street (which would be opened up to pedestrians) to Canwest Park to become this:

Ladies, Gentleman and randoms viewing this thread, BEHOLD!!!

Blumberg! Or Pointe West, depends what you prefer to call that area. Anyways, heres the details:

Phase I | Two store areas, community centre, some single-family housing
Phase II | More single-family housing, greenspace #1 development, transit loop construction
Phase III | Mid-Rise area, Single Family housing, extension of Route 82 to area for transit service 6am-6pm weekdays, as a start. Transfer to 22/24/25...
Phase IV | Convenient Store, more single family homes, developement or Siegfried Bike Path
Phase V | Apartments, Single Fam Housing, Construction of Assiniboine Avenue West
Phase VI | Bike path along Assiniboine River, two-lane bridge across river as well, with Augusta Drive extended north! Maybe a gas station near SW corner...
Future | Pointe West Bike Path, 1/2 more transit routes, 7-10 more "Phases"

Comments?

PS: Red blips are the future Super-Express service to Winnipeg!

I know i am terrible at this sort of stuff but here is my idea of what to do with the Bay. It would be modeled off of one of my favorite buildings; the Tip-Top building in Toronto which is now redeveloped into condo's. By the way, i have no idea who would fund such a thing and it would surely be very expensive, but it is just an idea.

I was thinking a similar thing for the bay. Please excuse the low end Paint render. My idea is to (i know, blasphemy - but i am trying to save the building, but....) cut the building in half. Horseshoe each half and build an addition on top - al,la the Tip-Top Building and run a streetcar or LRT line through it, down Graham to Main St.

(....the streetcar would run down Osborne to crazy corner and back up to Main St and connect up to Graham again. But that is for another thread)

Here is a beginning stages render for a North End Redevelopment project I have always wanted to make.

Key Factor to this redevelopment is that it would not be low income housing or Government houses. But middle class homes, with bare amenities so it is affordable. Key layouts would allow for great community access, and plenty of involvement for children. Roads would be multi-use, for pedestrians bikes and cars. There would be more lighting than required. Camera's set up on streets as well as a security kiosk inside of the Condo's surveying the entire development. Two Olympic sized hockey rinks would be placed at one end of the development. They will be below grade allowing swimming during the summer. Not sure about other details yet.

The linear streets would allow for row houses. The historic in me would love for the design to consist of historic, but a modern approach may be taken as well. I am not sure yet. I could do a Historic lining the outside, allowing the inside to consist of a cool modern design. We'll see.

The Project will consist of 3 Highrises. One of which has been design, the other two are on the West side of the pathway crossing between the Towers.

You guys would probably find this illogical and crazy, but I always thought that Assiniboine Forest should expand southward so that it connects with Fort Whyte Alive. I wonder how much it would cost to purchase this land and then change the zoning to park.

We'd have to wait 40 years for the trees to grow, compensate farmers, keep Scott Fielding from turning it into a Wal-Mart the size of Polo Park all in the name of development (basement & 2nd floor included)
