Here's my rather amateurish rendering of Toronto's skyline in 2016 using Jack Landau's incredible photo from Humber Bay. I've included only those projects that are, or will soon be, under construction and which will actually make a significant impact on the skyline from this particular angle.

There are a lot of significant proposals that aren't included. From left to right, they'd be 37 Yorkville, Holt Renfrew Tower, 599 Yonge, The Britt, 11 Wellesley, 880 Bay, 501 Yonge, Yonge & Grenville Residences, 72 Carlton, 43 Gerrard, 381 University, The Icon, 2 Queen West, Oxford Place and 45 Bay. I may do an optimistic 2020 rendering including them later.

Surrey is rockin' it! I recall going out to that 'downtown' in 2002/03 when it was just starting some serious redevelopment, but have been impressed since.

Good job. Also missing, rather significantly, is Harbour Plaza. You have also omitted, I suppose on purpose, Mirvish and One Yonge.

Harbour Plaza wouldn't really be visible from that angle, being obscured by Ice.

The unaltered photo at the top was the rendering 3D/Maldive made 6 or 7 years ago

Well, wouldn't it be somewhat visible as an indistinguishable edifice between ICE and Ten York?

Do you have a source for this? I was pretty sure that the increase to 161 metres was after three floors were added. According to the Final Report it was originally 147 metres. I42 confirmed the new height: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthr...508#post636508

Sure, but I thought adding a small sliver of building in the background wouldn't have really added much to the rendering.

And yes, you are right. 161 meters. I just seem to remember making it 176 in my model, but it is 161 there as well so I am just confused haha.

speaking of my model..

I am very excited to see what projects actually end up going ahead out of the huge list of proposed towers.

Great drawings Also missing in your proposal list is CASA III , Mirvish, 1 Yonge (the later two are probably 10+ years before anything gets built though, if at all).

He's trying to include only things that have an almost guarantee to happen, in which case only really CASA III is missing. It is also a rather crappy angle to display all of the projects going on, many of them are blocked by other buildings.

Great render though! If only I had the skills to do that.. Maybe I should make another video of my model. to help people realize how I get to see the future skyline..
