Those are realty shots, and apparently they want prospective buyers to think the Hill Country is visible in all directions. There are no photoshopped photos looking west at the real Hill Country.

There's nothing worse than being a prospective buyer or renter and having to sift through mountains of realtor broker-babble bs, and heavily manipulated, over saturated, misleading photos.

"Cute and cozy 1/1 with views of Lady Bird Lake and the Hill Country!"
...translation...
"Your wildly overpriced 550 sqft shoebox with a phonebooth sized shower and toilet, has a view of a giant wall with a sliver of blue water faintly visible from 17 blocks away. The hill country is just beyond the 7 other skyscrapers in front of you."

The whole process of sales and closing sales is a relatively dirty business that sometimes use unethical and exaggerated tactics to lure the prospected buyer in and then use every trick in the book to close the deal after getting the buyer to spend more than they intended. How do I know? I've been in sales for 15 years and have been trained and in fact, pressured to use certain tactics that border on dishonesty. I for one refuse to do many such things as I feel I have to live with myself and don't like ripping people off, hence the counseling I received just yesterday for missing some of my metrics. But the bottom line is that the consumer has the final say. They may be lured to that 500 square foot over priced shoebox staring at a brick wall of a view, but they have the power to just say no. If they agree to the terms, its on them. I hate the tactics of professional salesmanship, but in today's competitive landscape, its essential to the bottom line, and buyers should be aware we are trained to get inside their heads. Very few of us, like me, are transparent from the start and refuse to mislead our customers, hence the missed metrics. Someday it could cost me my job. Btw, its not just the way downtown realty works, does your frozen dinner ever resemble the picture on the box?

Ha ha. The clouds in these two pictures are mirror images of each other.

You can also tell that there were more clouds that day by looking at the facade of the W, which was clearly reflecting more clouds. Look at the reflection of the Colorado Tower in the W's facade. There are clouds directly over it in that reflection, but none in the sky. Some of the buildings also appear to be a little bit distorted, which is probably because of whatever editing they did. The Capitol dome and 70 Rainey, for example, look strange.

I can't believe the number of frozen dinners I ate growing up. I'm surprised I'm still alive.

I take back my "awesome pictures" comment, by the way - I clearly didn't recognize the photoshopping (not a photographer), and the mirrored cloud images mentioned above are hilarious!

That said - the shots of buildings are pretty cool. And I still like to see the different angles from normal shots of downtown. Zaza is beginning to feel like it's a historic building in some ways. I love the brick.

If someone's going to pay that much for realty shots they should have waited for a nice day instead of doing it on a cloudy day and trying to make it look sunny. The light reflecting off the buildings is totally inconsistent with the photoshopped weather conditions and looks terrible.

Two really nice recent drone videos of downtown that KXAN posted on Facebook. I checked to see if they had these on their Youtube page, but they didn't. Hopefully everyone can see these.

It would have been cool to have the alignment of Congress to match up with the alignment of the drive going up to the UT tower. That said, it's still pretty cool as is.

The position of Frost in front of One Congress makes it look like one big pyramid with a light on top. Cool angle.

That's another Freemason design feature of the Frost tower. It's supposed to look like the Eye of Providence when viewed from Austin's most iconic tower.

Here's a couple of pano's from last night.

One of the best backdrops in live music!

Stitched together multiple pics in Photoshop (and some very minor editing) from my cutting edge iPhone 6 camera. Wish I had a better camera.

What an amazing backdrop from the stage to show off downtown's better side to SXSW attendees. That should leave a lasting impression.
