^Do you have a source for that. The development agreement only allows for 7 floors.

I have seen the current drawings, and have been involved in some aspects of the design work...

CASE 18755

"An existing development agreement (DA) on lands at 5 Horizon Court, known as the former MT&T site, authorizes a seven-storey 168 dwelling unit multi-use building having ground floor commercial and six floors residential. The applicant’s proposal is to increase the height to a nine-storey building by adding two residential floors for a total of 192 units. The existing DA requires that the entire ground floor be commercially developed: however, the developer is seeking flexibility to replace up to 100 percent of the ground floor commercial with residential units that would provide a total of 214 units. The applicant is also proposing changes to the architectural elevations, materials, landscaping provisions, and reduction to the number of units per floor."

Out of sight out of mind.....very low potential here for a quality development.

Isn't this the company that was fighting the 27 Storey building?

Yes it was. They dropped their appeal during the NSUARB hearing. Maybe they decided that a tall tower within their vicinity was to their advantage by increasing their own building height.

It seems like a good idea - go with the flow instead of making waves (at least as far as development projects are concerned).

City Center Atlantic & The Vic turned out pretty awesome!! Why would you expect anything less here from Dexel? I have no interest, just wondering why the negative slant?

They also did a pretty decent conversion of the Greenvale school in Dartmouth into lofts, which is great, except for the weird stucco covering on the brick. And they've had a few other good projects around town.

But, they're also responsible for this and, most unfortunately, this. Seems like even good developers let their designs slip substantially the further they get from the core. (Though that South Street number is central, and still quite a dog's breakfast.)

Perhaps you should look at the elevations again?

I was past here sunday, due to some internet issues, I'm just getting to post now. Sunday afternoon the parking structure's columns were being put up, and there were 2 crane bases in place.

It's truly unfortunate that inner suburb areas of our city still receive this kind of rubbish...
