My favorite thing about this tower is how it ties into the city. More looks at the connection...

I like to use BofA as a guide, since it's about the same distance...

It is a rare sight to see the MetLife building from that corner.

Please tell me if a sky restaurant will be there.
I’d like a table by the window please!
Big tips = big rewards.

At 900+ feet, that would be above the Cipriani Rainbow Room @ 30 Rock!
Better views of the Chrysler & ESB buildings for starters!
Hudson Yards should be in view easily.
Direct subway access via Grand Central concourse.

I've posted on the comments section under the skycam asking for the owners/managers to recalibrate it so it actually pans on the upper portion of the building. Is there any way to contact them directly?

Awesome drawings of the connections NYGuy, thanks. But does this mean Vanderbilt is being closed to traffic and turned into a ped plaza, or an I reading this wrong? This is something the city wanted to do in the past, but received a lot of pushback.

The portion of Vanderbilt between the tower and Grand Central will be a pedestrian plaza, as will some other streets.

It's a shame that Manhattan is becoming an anti-driving city.

Lol, no. NY is still full of traffic. Go to a European city and see what it's like to be anti-driving. NY probably should have more pedestrian zones honestly.

Wouldn't closing off random blocks, especially in this super busy area make traffic even worse?

No, this eliminates an intersection, and Vanderbilt is a lightly traveled street relative to 42nd street. This will likely improve traffic flow on 42nd. The amount of pedestrians who cross here every day is also huge.

I don't believe there's much of an argument for keeping the street here, this is a real no brainer to me. Most places that have introduced street diets, street closures have seen an improvement in traffic flow.
