This tower unlike 2 WTC, 432 Park, Nordstrom tower is progressive architecture that represents the best in architecture's modernization. Not just a regurgitation of the same old boring and frugal modernist/square shapes and façades that accountants love.

9 Dekalb is a contender for best facade moving forward. Based on renderings, I'm sure the final product will impress. From what we've seen with Steinway, that too.

i liked that more delicate, spidery view of the orginial version than this truncated version, now that was a real work of art, but it still is and is going to be mighty impressive, both from afar and from close up. best of all its totally putting the goth back in gotham (surprizingly, so is that black gehry on the east side).

Maybe it's just me, but this towers construction progress has been really quick in hindsight. The damn soft-cost stage though was ridiculous in length, but the actual good portion, where it rises, is making great speed. I was thinking given the complexity it would crawl like slow, dripping molasses, but such is not the case!

Probably just concrete. They're already past that part, and there would be no point in building a glass facade just for it to be covered by a tower that's not getting torn down anytime soon.
