Seems like the buildings in London are getting a lot bigger and taller. I was born here and lived during most of the 80's in London and I don't ever remember London building any tall towers during my childhood.

You realize that construction sites and cranes are only temporary right?

Ugly and awful. I wouldn't even put it in the top 50, let alone 5 or 1. So glad this is not in NY or Chicago. But that's just my opinion. And that's the great thing about being here... we can all have our opinion without fear of reprisal or incrimination (ha ha).

I think it's really nice, and works in London because there's nothing surrounding it- unlike NY or Chicago, with much high skyscraper density- it'd look very much out of place compared to most skyscrapers. I really hope the shard stands alone in that area.

It works in London because of the number of eccentric towers there. But elsewhere it would best be hidden in a sea of skyscrapers. It would work in NYC because only the top would be seen, and it's in keeping with the other supertalls to work in Chicago. But I think it would look odd and out of place elsewhere such as Toronto or LA.

It would stand out just fine at the right spot in Manhattan, but it belongs in London

True, if it were built close to either the East or Hudson rivers, or south of around 30th St.

If it was in NYC, it would belong across the river in Brooklyn.
