Princeton is, indeed very pretty. It's a pity that Route 1 is such a gash through the landscape, but go 100 meters away and you're in nice countryside again. But I would place New Haven above Princeton architecturally.
Some of the new condos recently constructed here start at $1 million. Incredible..not sure they are selling too many.
The fundamentally cool thing about Princeton is who lived here in the past. In the graveyard are buried, amongst others, Grover Cleveland, Sylvia Beach (owner of Paris book store where expat American writers in 1920s hung out), Kurt Godel (famous logician), John von Neumann (greatest mathematician of the 20th century), and Aaron Burr.
Unfortunately, something like 40% of current Princeton undergrads go on to Wall Street careers, the most in the Ivys.

Well Princeton's Town center and University are sparred from Route 1's monstrous destruction. Edison , Woodbridge , Rahway , Linden and Elizabeth suffer the most....if they utilized the corridor properly like adding in Bus Rapid Transit , Sidewalks , and tree planted Island than I think it could be integrated into the community. Route 27 and US 9 should undergo similar changes , instead of barriers to the community they should add to the community. Where are these 1 million $ Condos , I could see them selling well in Jersey City along the Hudson but Princeton would be a tough sell at least for me.

Yes , they recently cut back the Dinky by 1800ft in what could be an illegal move by NJT and University... So the University could Expand , and there are talks of converting the Dinky to a Busway although the town wants a Light Rail.

I think Yale is on par with Princeton in terms of Architecture , I haven't been to BC so I can't say.
