North York Centre was pretty built-up with hi-rise development (in the 20-25 storey range) by the mid 1980s, although over the last ten years the area has exploded with dozens of new, much taller towers.

Not in Toronto, it's commonplace for well-to-do people in the city to live in condos, and the average condo price in the city has just passed $500,000 CAD.
