The podium looks like it could be nice, or at least visually interesting, and at that location, a gray tower is fine. It'll mostly disappear into the rest. It sure would be nice if the tower wasn't gray though.

Do any of you live in the neighborhood? I've always wondered how much noise trains make inside homes there.

What’s the other building with the red outline? This area is going to be even more dense after this

The red-outlined building is the building this thread is about - block 24. The yellow-outlined buildings are the Holden which is nearly completed and the other, on Naito, is what used to be called the Fremont and is completed.

Exactly. With the big caveat that I do this as a hobby so they are very rough approximations

I do. With the windows closed, usually the only sound I hear is the dinging of the warning bells where the gates come down to block the road, plus the train whistle. It's muted, though, and can't be heard over the TV and doesn't wake me up or anything.

With the windows open, it can be pretty loud, though. I've had a few zoom calls interrupted by heavy handed whistle operators.

Who is the developer? Is this likely to move quickly?

Hoyt Street and GBD Architects. Since Hoyt's built several of the high rises over there, I'd think this one is pretty likely to go forward.

Hoyt Street (currently) owns the land, but I believe Greystar is the developer.

The tower looks so much better in the latest renderings. Build it, build it, build it!

Agreed. The drawings look so darn grey, but the renderings look a lot more glass/reflective. More like a South Waterfront type of building.

Somehow this area gets tall towers built all the time and never hear the excuse it’s to expensive to build tall
