Oh, I see now. The spans support pedestrian activity, but not the roadway. The MHH bridge does support the roadway over the Trinity, correct? Thanks for your clarification. All three bridges are great additions!

The original purpose of these being spanned was to provide as much uninterupted space in the park and particularly in the upcoming lakes that will be dug in the park. Funding has gotten in the way, but they still managed to get the spans for the pedestrian/bike bridges, so that's a few more posts out of the lakes and park.
