The first version was nicer, but the new one is more realistic. It looks more feasible.

IMO they've got to do away with the big base. I like the first render though. Tall, sharp, and sleek, gets a lot of points from me

Why don´t we put this project to "stale-proposal" in the diagrams?

Construction was planned to begin in 2007, nothing happened until today. No news here for years.

Don't think it's dead. A forumer from South Korea on SSC posts regularly about this and other towers there. Here are his latest pictures. Maybe it's slow but it's not a stale proposal

It is very much alive! I met with a higher-up from Portman Architects in Atlanta recently, and they are doing test pilings (?) or something of that nature. (Sorry, my civil engineering knowledge is poor.) They said it is being built, and will be mostly clad by the time the Asian games are held in South Korea in 2014. There are two luxury hotel brands that are possibilities for the hotel portion, sounded like they would announce the brand in coming months.

very cool to see this get built. Now, is it just me or does it look like someone built the new One World Trade Center in the background of the last pic?
