Pretty average game but a win is a win.

Gallagher is fucking awesome. I don't care what team you're cheering for (or whether you hate him or not), you have to admire his hustle. Every single game... just insane.

McDavid's the best player in the NHL and it's pretty remarkable.

And goodness was that Nashville crowd hyped for that PK goal. Such an awesome atmosphere.

McDavid makes the rest of the team look like they are standing still. It's still weird to watch him play, he's that much more... Dynamic... Fast... Gooder... Awesome?
It's weird, this is the NHL having a player that is steps better than the vast majority of the league just seems wrong.

Hard to show because the Flames have been out of sync and awful so far, but the Oilers won't win many games when teams shut down McDavid.

Dump and chase after dump and chase.
I mean the Habs even dumped and chased in FREAKING OT at 3 vs 3.

If the Preds weren't losing 3-0, I would have switched to the Nashville game.

Awful coach, awful GM, awful play.

Wow did the Sedins ever own Calgary on that shift!

Flames now winless in their first 3 games. They're supposed to be really good this year.

Maybe someone should tell them that..

Johnson was solid though, he looked more like the number one goalie than Elliot has so far.

Flames off to their usual terrible start. Wonder if they'll wait until mid season before turning it on and chasing a playoff spot til the bitter end? Hopefully not.

McJesus looked good from the bit I saw. Oilers are sounding like the Leafs though with such premature delusions of grandeur.

Who? Mclellan every time he talks reiterates how much work the oilers have to do and they aren't yet where they need to be. I haven't talked to anyone this year that is hyped about the team being legit yet. Its better but a long way to go.
People are hyped about McDavid, because he is really really good.

Good grief, here we go. "If you didn't have McDavid you'd be nothing wah wah wah". Enjoy watching McDavid rip your team a new one for the next 20 years and choke on your 0-2-1 start.

Puck possession is the key to success in overtime, not dump and chase. Retreat when necessary to complete a line change or when there is no play, just keep hold of the puck.

Far, FAR too early to pontificate, but we look like a much better team this year... reminiscent of 1980s Oilers.

7-4

10-8

5-3

9-4

5-1

etc.

What premature delusions of grandeur have the Leafs had? This like the whole "plan the parade" route thing that has no actual basis? Most Leafs fan expect the worst.

First it was Phaneuf, then Kessel, now Matthews is gonna save them. He is impressive, but even with the record he set that first game Toronto ended up losing. Same problem Edmonton's had the last decade. One star can't carry a whole team.

Ha you beat me to it. I've been reading tons of premature delusions of grandeur on here and it's not coming from the Leaf fans.

Did he mention Mathews and then delete it from his post or are you just filling in the blanks for him?

BTW winning three games in a row is nothing to write home about.
