I actually find this to be really ugly, like Hadid channeling Gaudi (who I worship given the art moderne era that he lived in—time and place). This bldg looks like a rehabbed Kaiju skeleton.

^ It seems like this one is going to take a while before it goes Vertical. Are they sold out yet?

It is. This project will take a very long time to rise. Complex foundation work is needed before we see steel.

I'd say about a month. Right now its a lot of sales oriented and finalizing work which is more corporate one could say, but we should start seeing some nice activity in the next month. They are aiming for a summer start.

Thing with the digging is that it will take a year. The original scheduled wanted this done by the end of next year, but it looks on track for a fall of 2017 launch. With residents moving in early 2018.

Right, is that near Bayside Park? I can't remember where it is.

Yeah its directly North of it. Bayside is south of the arena and museum is north of it. Adjacent to the Arena water slip.

This should start serious work soon. More installations of cranes and an influx of equipment is coming to the site.

How Engineers Are Building Skyscrapers That Seem Physically Impossible
Kelsey Campbell-Dollaghan
5/27/15 4:40pm

Another of their clients, Zaha Hadid, is building a 62-story tower called 1000 Museum Tower in Miami right now. It took two years to work out the building’s structure. Originally, the sinuous metal arms that curl around its facade were purely cosmetic—the building was pretty normal, but it looked like an alien life form with an exoskeleton.

DeSimone figured out a way to make that decorative exoskeleton part of the building’s structural engineering. They’re made out of hollow precast panels (produced in Dubai) that are then filled with cement when they’re installed. It actually is an exoskeleton, just Hadid’s design implied from the beginning.

^ Yellow crane lower right & 1000 Museum will be taller than the last tower on the right (Marquis).

Best looking tower in Miami IMO! Can't wait for the skeleton to rise! As well as the sketchy area behind these towers to turn into the Miami World Center.
