San Francisco - Japantown, Cathedral Hill and beyond!

As promised earlier this week, Japantown. Just another 'snap-session' before work in this unbelievable city! Enjoy.

Didn't even know there was a Japantown... Anywhere. Are there a lot of bagel heads walking around?

I want a unit on the top floor of that circular tower with the round balconies! Awesome pics, this neighborhood has a very unique feel from these pics. It seems laid back was this a weekday? A couple of the pics with the residential towers look a bit like condo canyon on Wilshire in LA. Do you live in this nabe?

AustinLee: Bagel heads? I googled what a 'bagel head' was, and, WOW! No, there were no bagel heads in Japantown this day San Francisco is one of the last cities in the USA to have one, along with Los Angeles and San Jose. SF's JT is situated next to the Fillmore district (historically black) and the contrast in urban scenery is awesome.

Mello: Thank you! The towers totally remind me on southern California. These towers in particular are some distance from downtown, and so, you can really appreciate all sides of them; which is hard to come by in dense San Francisco! Unfortunately, I do not live near Japantown....too expensive for a college student!

Thank you, both!

Nice comprehensive tour of the Japantown/Fillmore Street area. Any reason you didn't go inside the mall?

Hey Nineties! First off, thank you for all your Bay Area threads, they cured my homesickness while I was living in Sweden (2011-2012). I took these photos before 10AM, and so the mall was closed...next time.

Glad to see that John Lee Hooker's joint is still slinging the Blues.
