As others have mentioned the view of Hamilton is limited by the escarpment and the Skyway Bridge and industry.

But just eyeballing a map, to the east I think it could be visible from much further. I'm not sure if you can see it from the top of the escarpment in Grimsby (25km), but there might be buildings in St. Catharines that offer a line of sight (50+ km), perhaps even the pier at Port Dalhousie. Must investigate.

Probably not. The reason you can see Toronto so clearly is because it's across a lake, so there aren't any lights/houses/buildings in between. With Hamilton you'd be looking across Lincoln/Stoney Creek/East Hamilton in an attempt to see a not-so-tall skyline.

Don't have a picture and it's not that far distance-wise but the village of Ste-Pétronille on the western tip of île d'Orléans offers spectacular views of old downtown Quebec which is right across the water from it. It's actually pretty cool because of the contrast between the island's "Old New France" pastoral rural setting and the skyline of the city.

You can also see the Montmorency falls from there.

I'm guessing that the Concession street 'skyline' or another highrise clump on the Mountain can probably be seen from fairly far.

Speaking of which, here's my pic of QC from Montmorency taken last year.

Distance is 15 km.

Here's one from the south side of the island (St. Laurent de l'île d'Orléans)

As the crow flies, I think that Ste-Pétronille on the tip of the island is barely 3km from the Château Frontenac.

Fredericton has the triple whammy of being in a deep valley, being on a headland of the river that formed that valley, and not having much of a skyline to begin with. So you can only go a few KM's in any direction (including up and down the river) before you lose it completely; maybe a max distance of about 10 km or so and that's being generous.

That pic would probably look a lot better at 20% the size.

I took this back in October from Braeben GC in Mississauga - you can see the Four Seasons and Aura in the background

Whats the furthest you can See Vancouver from? I assume you can't see the city from the Island unless you are on top of a mountain, but what about some of the smaller islands in the Straight?

I was just about to tackle that question myself. If we use your or Freeweed's trick of picking the furthest mountain visible from Downtown Vancouver it might be from the top of Mount Baker in Washington State? Not sure how many kms that is. And ya from the Island it would have to be from the top of Mt. Washington maybe?

Mt Washington might be too far north to see anything, unless Nanaimo or Courtney have a skyline lol.

The entire Toronto skyline is visible, not just Aura and Four Seasons.

I was wondering the same thing but I don't think Vancouver can be seen from that far away. It would be hard to see the buildings against the backdrop of the mountains.

Yeah the Mountains would definitely obscure any view of the skyline.

You can't even see downtown Vancouver from other parts of Vancouver. You can't see Surrey from on top of the skyscrapers downtown.
