West Coast Express for South of the Fraser?

I was thinking about how they should create a part of the West Coast Express that serves Surrey - Chiliwack.

They could use instead of Waterfront, the Pacific Central Station, and the tracks could go along what the Via rail passenger train uses.

By that they could use the Grandview cut then follow the train tracks towards New West then at new west cross the fraser and continue on the burbs.

Of course I think they could also use the route (Grandview) but detour it towards Waterfront from Clark for a extra few minutes.

And of course the train would only stop at East Surrey and other locations east of that.

Just a quick thought to discuss about!

Welcome to the Forum!!!

Actually this has been discussed quite often before...

If you want some back history, you might find something under Fraser Valley Express.

There were a few different routes discussed. The original one talked about was through the Grandview cut, past Burnaby Lake, across the Old bridge in Surrey and then East through Newton, Cloverdale and Langley.

However, it would really require a new bridge between New West and Surrey. A piece of infrastructure that is desperately needed.

Thanks, yeah that was the one i was explaining about, similar to the route used by Via & amtrak passenger trains.

But would it use Pacific Central or Waterfront

You should see a few concepts from the Transit Fantasies thread.
