They are bitching about a few parking spaces that are short so hopefully a variance will be granted and this will proceed. I am against required parking anywhere within I-44/235/40 loop anyways.

What's astounding to me is that the neighborhood directly south and most impacted by this development, Classen Ten-Penn, is still really rough. I think they would welcome new investment on the east side of the neighborhood, as it only raises their home values. Although, I understand gentrification of the area will most likely end up with a lot of the lower income folks being forced out of the neighborhood.
The parking issue is really silly. When Midtown grows and fills in north towards Plaza and Western, and as Classen becomes more pedestrian oriented as a result, these parking requirements will loosen up. But hey, someone has to be initial pioneers.
This will be our first mixed use urban housing built along Classen, with the far larger 21C apartments being next on two separate lots near Main and Sheridan. Along with recently completed projects like Catholic Charities and Sunshine Cleaners Brewery, Classen Boulevard has some good urban framework laid for the future.
