Wow, how do the locals keep this place a secret? I would have never thought it was so colorful and had so much soul. The population has been shrinking for the past 50 years and population density is only 1600/sq km. Do the neighborhood streets feel empty or do these neighborhoods remain densely populated? Thanks for sharing!

Cincinnati experienced flight early on. Thus, it was like a concentric ring of flight (first, the basin due to pollution and overcrowding; the townhouse neighborhoods due to white flight; and now outer ring neighborhoods due to black flight). But the positive is that Cincinnati is bottoming out so yeah, while some neighborhoods feel empty (for example, the West End in the last set), they are actually growing so give it some time.

Cincinnati is ridiculously better than Louisville. If all of my friends weren't here I'd pack up and move there.

Hot damn, what a thread. Cincy is a beaut, that's for sure. You captured it wonderfully; tons of great shots here. Oh, and Skyline Chili is one of the best foods ever.

This is the 'nati I know from my time there from '95-2000. eclectic, historic and gritty. The shame is that all that great historic fabric is not really taken advantage of, or desired by the people of the metro. If OTR and Clifton Heights were in say, Denver, Seattle or Austin, they would be the absolute most desirable and expensive neighborhood in town. In Cincy they are seeing only spotty revitalization. The other thing is that most of those beautiful rowhouses in the first half of the thread are cheap STUDENT HOUSING for UC. Those bad boys would be worth millions in other cities, in the nati they're torn apart every semester by rotating bands of undergrads.
