PORTLAND, OREGON: where gio hangs his hat

hello skyscraperpage photo section, and especially to giallo and volguus and herodotus and fflint and the STL twins and ex-ithacan and late1 and segun and kilgore trout and flash and cirrus and upward and coldayman and theodore and cubercle and all those other old school heads who are somewhere out there in this vast/tiny internet/universe. and most definitely a proper shout out to sekkle, who has repped portland hard with his amazing photos. keep up the good work, brother. hope that phoenix sun is treating you all right this summer.

anyway, me and my many many posts of SSP past have departed philadelphia for the green pastures and gray skies of the pacific northwest. here are 100 photos from my first eight months in portland - winter, spring and summer, in no particular order. the columbia river gorge, the pacific coast, the cascade mountains and volcanoes, and the willamette valley are all inspiringly beautiful, but every photo here was taken within city limits.

if you'd like a musical accompaniment, i might recommend THIS.

how y'all feeling out there?

Top-notch. Lots of great new angles.

Between you and Sekkle, we've now got a murderer's row of photographic talent representing Portland.

Hello Mr Sasso, welcome to SSP. I think you'll find us a farily good natured lot. What a Portland Extravaganza. Superb. Love the last pic (that place is the only time I ever tried to ski, the operative word being tried).

Welcome back gio. It's been waaaay too long. I guess you'll really be getting all green and crunchy (don't ya have to give up eating meat when you move there?) out there in the PAC NW. Look forward to more stuff in the future. Thanks.

You know you and your damn unicorn miss Northern Liberties.

But Portland is a good make-up session.
