Best Buffalo Wings in Metro Vancouver

Vancouver, BC is three time zones removed from Buffalo, New York. So it stands to reason that the quality of chicken wings here is not as high as those offered on the snow-swept banks of Lake Erie.

But it begs the question: Where can you get the best Buffalo Wings -- served with celery sticks, blue cheese and cheep beer, of course -- in Metropolitan Vancouver?

Best wings, are at pubs, Woodys in Coquitlam used to have 5cent wings night, I think they are now 10cents still cheap, There's Marine pub in Burnaby I think 15cents on some nights, Elephant walk pub in Vancouver Knight+41st cheap one night a week also. There's also a place on Kingsway in burnaby by the dennys/lordco with good cheap wings can't remember the name right now. Then there's also Tugboat anne's in Richmond with good cheap wings, think they are 10cents during every Canuck game. There are tons of good and dirt cheap wing places in Vancouver, you just have to experiment.

You make it sound like soaking chicken wings in hot sauce is such a complex craft that only a few in Buffalo have mastered to perfection.

oh man, there are some BAD wings out there. especially the ones that are baked and not fried.

i think Moxie's should be thrown in the mix here. i've noticed when ever i go to some new city, i can always find the best wings of a major chain there.

Have you ever heard of Frank and Theresa's Anchor Bar? This is the original home of the Buffalo wing -- and trust me, it is infinitely better than what's being served up at your local TGI Fridays.

I've heard people say you can find pasta dishes in Tokyo that are just as good, if not better, than those in Italy.

Mind you, the Japanese are noted sticklers as far as food quality goes, so this is not too surprising.

Have you been there? The wings aren't that great. I will admit that it is "the original" place, but wing flavour technology has evolved enormously since then.

I've been to the storied intersection of Main and North on many an occasion.

They are very good chicken wings. Not the best in Buffalo, mind you; or even Western New York. But I will take them hands down over anything and everything that's offered up in Vancouver (or Western Canada).

As for the evolution of wing flavour technology, if you are referring to organic, free-range chicken wings served up at Capers, or the Feenie-fancy "wings de poulet" at Cactus Club, then again, we must agree to disagree.

IGA would be a good start. I'm not kidding. The Buffalo wings they sell there are pretty good.

Went to Augustine's on North Grandview and Commercial last night for $4.65 pints and $0.35 wings. I have to say the wings were AWESOME there.
