When did the Arcade open back up? Last time I was in DTLA (summer 2015) I could have sworn it was sealed off. On a related note, how much more lively and occupied is Broadway now compared to three years ago? It was pretty sad when I was there, and I hope it’s doing better.

The bridge is really starting to take its form now from the 101 freeway. It is exciting to see!

Small, quality infill developments like these (which are too few and far between city-wide) do much more for LA's urban fabric than anything that's being built in South Park (aka Podium City) at the moment.

I've been going there a few years now and getting Gelato at Gelateria Uli. In the last couple years the Spring Arcade has blossomed into a small Grand Central Market of sorts.

Don Francesco's Coffee (an LA original) just opened up along with Blu Jam Cafe. Clayton's to open soon among many other great places already open.

Check it out:

Broadway is a work in progress, but its destiny of becoming a vibrant amazing corridor is pretty much sealed.

Broadway has good eats. I just hope it develops a more robust entertainment and shopping aspect (beyond sneakers).

Futuristic city in the background is clearly LA, with many proposed and rumored projects showcased (i.e. Angels Landing, Hyperloop, etc.)

If the skyline looks even 20% this robust in the next several decades I will be THRILLED.

Hope influential city officials like Garcetti have seen this. Really inspiring stuff on how much potential DTLA has.

Wow! The fact that they included the New LA River Bridge and Revitalization is really quite impressive.

Some screenshots for your viewing pleasure

Also I don't think this has been posted here yet but a futuristic LA Skyline makes a brief appearance in Lana Del Rey's "White Mustang" video.

Much much better than the first iteration and hopefully will be surrounded by similar towers.

Do we imagine that, in the future, when LA removes parking minimums, these podiums will be redone into towers (like Jamison is doing with the World Trade Center and several properties around KTown)?

Or will the fact that they'd have to remove the pool and other amenities for residents make it prohibitive?

I would imagine it would not be practical to redo the parking podiums into towers. I am not an engineer, but it seems the parking podium would share the foundation with the existing tower--not sure if you can just swap without redoing the whole thing.

Excited for a potential future in which 4 700+ foot tall towers are rising nearly adjacent to one another in South Park.

Yes. Build it. Build it before somebody changes their mind. The only thing i question is the balconies. Seems like a bit much.

There's few firms I trust more than Onni at this point to get something built. Unless something crazy happens, the odds should be pretty good for this building to see the light of day.

With the LA Times relocating to El Segundo, I think the process is moving along.

This is the Onni project I am most excited about, if only because 1000 units will totally transform that area.

Anyone know what's going on with the "Jenga tower" proposed at Pershing Square? Would love to see that go up, and the park encircled by development.

And while we're at it, is there anything new on the Angel's Landing project?
