Here is a low res photo of the Pudong and Bund area of Shanghai from the top observation deck of the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC) taken on the 15th of July about 30 minutes after sunset. Note the top of the Jinmao building directly below. I thought the room I had on the 73rd floor of the Jinmao was high till I stepped out on to this observation deck.
Unlike the observation deck at Taipei 101 and that located on the Sears Tower (a.k.a. Willis tower) glass box excluded, one can look nearly straight down as there are glass sections in the floor for one to look through. Had it been earlier in the day, I might have been able to get a few photos looking down.
Where Taipei 101 has the SWFC beat is that you can go outside on to the roof of Taipei 101 and really feel the difference the increase in altitude has on the local surrounds and weather conditions.
