Oh, you must have missed the news last year about it being wildly out of plumb. They had to start the whole thing over.

Doesn't CC1 have the ability to show color at the very top? I could swear I saw it blue and red during some testing back on '07 or '08. At least a thin strip.

Well, here’s why it’s not green. Apparently they removed all color options. Article mentions an upcoming retrofit that could add color options.

CTC will also be white only.

""The building architecture in both the first and second buildings do not have the ability to change color," Gattuso said. "That was an intentional decision."

You've got to be F'ing kidding me, a 'technology' center with as rigid and plain as a lighting scheme as can possibly be conceived?

"Initially, the Comcast Center had the capability to light a stripe of colored lights at the very top, Gattuso said. But no one liked the way it looked, so it was removed.

Yet, Liberty Property Trust is exploring the possibility of adding the capability to light multiple colors as part of an upcoming retrofitting of the skyscraper, Gattuso said. But a final decision has not been made."

Perhaps they oughta take a gander at FMC since they seem to be struggling with the concept of what lights can do

That's not entirely true. I noticed a very narrow, barely discernable, band of red at the very top just two days ago, when I made a point of looking at it during my 5am walk up 23rd St to the train station.

^That's disappointing. They better add that retrofit - lighting scheme or LPT and Comcast look like dopes/nitwits/frauds (channeling my inner Howard Eskin). Hell, even the 85 year old PSFS Building (Loews Hotel) added lighting with the ability to change color!

Even better, 3 Logan Square's lighting doesn't have the ability to change colors either. They actually have to go out and put filters on their spotlights whenever they want to do something other than white (they really should invest in the spotlighting Mellon uses to light its crown).
