Am I the only one who thinks the paint job is hideous and tacky? Removing the blue seafoam behind the whales would help a bit....i suppose. I'm probably alone on this but I wish they would get rid of the whales altogethor. Call me boring, but i would rather it just had a regular paintjob.

I suppose in a couple of years there will be big rust spots mixed in as well. Its gonna look fantastic

The old BC logo is visually quite striking for something so simple... Although if you were to ask me to decide between the current government logo and this one, I wouldn't know which one to pick.

It has the BC flag, which sucks in terms of flag design. The clean blue and red lines... yes. The dogwood on the smokestack, yes yes.

The waving BC flag with the Helvetica BC beside it... no.

Not really true.

Super C's are from 2008 - 2009, Spirit Class 1992 - 1993, C Class are 1976 and 1980, only large 1960's era left on the major routes are Queen of New Westminster ( Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay ), Queen of Burnaby ( Powell River - Comox ) due to be replaced 2017 by Salish Class ( Polish built ) and Queen of Nanaimo ( Souther Gulf Islands ) due to be replaced 2017 by Salish Class ( Polish built ).

Once the Salish Class are deployed next year, the only 1960's era left on the major routes will be the Queen of New Westminster.

After the Queen of the North sinking, the northern vessels were also replaced a few years ago. Northern Expidition, new German built ferry, Northern Adventure a purchased ferry built 2000.

That's not paint, its a wrap job. If anything, that will help protect some of the structure from rust.

The magazine had all vessels BC Ferries has in random order and looking at Wikipedia now, there are quite a few older ones (based on original year built). But yeah, they have a mixture of different age vessels.

She's here... the Salish Orca arrived at Deas Dock around 1pm today. Its quite a bit bigger than I envisioned. Its comparable in height to the Northern Adventure which is berthed next to it.

Nice ship design, but the paint job is a bit iffy. They're either very beautiful and express BC's connection to nature and its First Nations heritage... or they're Haida-themed Disney cruise liners. Can't tell which.
