Dan Gilbert in talks to bring Apple store to Downtown Detroit
Dan Gilbert says he's in talks to bring Apple Store to Chase Tower building in downtown Detroit

Quote:
Less than a month after buying the Chase Tower building in downtown Detroit, Gilbert tells WXYZ he's in talks with Apple to bring a store and team of "geniuses" to Woodward Avenue.
May 5, WXYZ: When Dan Gilbert looks out the windows of his company's headquarters, he sees an Apple Store. The 49-year-old founder and chairman of Quicken Loans envisions one in downtown Detroit’s Chase Tower.
...As he looked out across Campus Martius Park, Dan Gilbert said his company would, "Try and get an Apple Store on the corner."
"We're talking to them," he revealed as he spoke to WXYZ's Carolyn Clifford.
As Gilbert mentions, he's only talking with Apple at this point. And much like Mayor Dave Bing's effort to lure Whole Foods to Midtown, there's no guarantee a deal will materialize.
