NYC Rick, please watch yourself if you decide to post in this thread again. You have been suspended a few times in the past and I would think you would have learned your lesson by now. Cheers.

He just needs to have a buddy pass him a bong or he should drink some excellent Idaho wine. I have heard Idaho wine is quite the hit in NYC.

Don't feed the trolls, ladies and germs. NYCRick is on my ignore list, I suggest doing the same.

Agreed.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have some information regarding the height of the Zions tower. The firm I work for was issued a 50% bid package from CTA. The elevations show the height at 300' to the top of the spire with 16 floors plus a mechanical penthouse. These drawings are privilaged so I'm not allowed to post them. Keep in mind these aren't 100% drawings but I doubt the height of the structure would change this late in the design game. Anyone here know what the height of the US Bank tower is?

welcome!

the US Bank building height is 267'.

it's great that the new building will reach 300', but i'm guessing the actual roof will be similar in height to the bank building?

note: emporis lists the US Bank building as 20 floors (with two additional floors underground). it's interesting that a building 4 floors shorter would be 33' taller.

Hey Killa B! Welcome to the party, and thanks for sharing!

It's great seeing all the new forumers! The activity in Boise both in development and in the discussions here on SSP is easily matching if not surpassing the buzz we had from 2005-2007 when the construction boom was on. 2012 has been great to us so far.

I believe it would actually be 3 floors shorter as there is no 13th floor in the USB tower. I'm assuming the 16 floors for Zions will include a 13th. Also consider that the first several floors in Zions will be retail and garage space, which would likely be considerably taller floors than the ones that make up office space...

You think?

Yes, there is indeed a 13th floor in the Zions bldg. The top of the spire is at 300' above grade, and the top of the parapet at the roof is shown at 265' I believe.

5 stories of mixed use (including parking garage)= 90'
11 stories of office= 185'

16 floors comes out to roughly 275' without a spire and assuming there's a 13th floor.

At work today I found the thread about all the projects in Boise and realized I still have a lot unread. Kinda made me excited.

I was down there yesterday and took a few more photographs. This time not from my iPhone 3g so they are better. When I get the DSLR and the fish eye, thats when I can get the whole building, hopefully by the time the building is complete

They have removed the pillars on the north side and as you can see the rebar in the northeast corner has begun to be disentangled.

Glad to read that you discovered the main development thread. There are also several more threads dedicated to Boise and Idaho development.

if someone gets the chance, the view from the eastman garage looking towards the U.S. Bank and grove would be a good one to include to show proximity of boise's next tallest to its current tallest.

i'd do it myself, but my poloroid is out of film, and i can't seem to get those things to stick to the screen very well.
