Cornerstone @ Booth Street | 4 fl | Completed

314 Booth at Eccles

The proposed 4-storey, 42-unit apartment building would have 3 residential floors with modest studio suites over a ground floor with mix of common spaces. The building would be oriented along Booth. The interior of the site has an open landscaped space that aligns with the open rear yards of the residential block behind. This space will be landscaped as an outdoor amenity space for residents with shade trees, planting beds for flower & vegetable gardens, & outdoor sitting areas. The grade slopes of the property will allow for the opportunity for windows in the southern end of the basement. Universal access to the building as well as access from an inside garbage and recycling room to Eccles dictate that the ground floor be approximately level with Eccles. The existing parking lot on the north side of Eccles Street will continue to provide parking for building staff. Residents will not have cars.

The site plan listed on the website indicates that 18 parking spaces are being provided, but 29 are required....it also says that is subject to a Minor Variance application. I thought in the former City of Ottawa for a reduction in parking you had to go through the Cash in Lieu process......

Anybody know more details?

Hopefully the finished product looks better than that second drawing...

Drove past this building yesterday during the rain storm, and I gotta say that it has certainly overtaken Z6 in terms of being closer to being completed...

I would also say that it has cleared the 'proposal' stage at this point.

Don't be hasty now. This is Ottawa you know.

I propose that we consider a proposal to adjust the 'proposed' status to reflect significant buy-in from stakeholders on a go-forward basis.

You'll want to strike an ad hoc committee to consider the transformational implications, I assume?
