Why is this still in "proposals"? It's clearly under construction and notification has been made.

Does anyone know why the foundation slab is sloped so steeply on the two sides? I can't think of any reason (drainage requires only a very slight slope), but perhaps it will become more clear as construction progresses.

Will they do a concrete slab only or will there be piles driven to the bedrock?

Also, this area (between Rincon Hill and Tranbay District) is the main gap still left in the skyline. Can't wait to see this one and the next crop of towers spring up in this area.

There appear to be piles--earlier photos show a pile driving machine--but not the kind of deep poured-in-place caisons that underly, for example 181 Fremont. I pointed this out earlier and was told the bedrock is shallower closer to Rincon Hill. I'm not sure this is that much closer but we have to trust the engineers and architects, with the example of millennium before them, wouldn't do anything stupid.

This shows a pile driver I believe:

Both the cranes from above. I tried to get a better shot, but the glare was pretty bad all day.

Today: The pour is complete and the rebar for the mat under the podium section seems nearly ready to be poured as well:

Thank you timbad. I am really going to be interested in this one as it starts rising. Its gonna be a great addition to the "gap" between Rincon Hill and the Transbay area. Too bad it couldn't have been a little taller than the completion height of 575 ft. But hey..... it's better than 400.

^^The 3 high rises currently under construction (or about to be, perhaps, in the case of the Jean Gang tower) on Folsom and the one on Howard (Park Tower) should completely eliminate "the gap".

Thanks Pedestrian. Completely forgot about the Gang Wavy Tower... Next couple of years are going to bring great additions to the skyline.
