2/27 photo by NotsuohPhoto at HAIF shows Dolce Living topping out from east to west. Despite appearances, it is not snowing...

Densest picture I've seen of Houston ever. Impressive. That really looks like a really dense city.

I've been going through the old posts and photos for this thread, starting at the beginning. It's interesting to see buildings during construction, buildings that were never built, etc.. The most amusing thing was the excitement over Pavillions in 2006.

Fairly cool. I like how compact things are finally turning. Density is stylish, huh?

I love how I was just thinking about the Perennial and it just pops out of nowhere. I also think that the other tower looks like the Wells Fargo Plaza, just shorter.

Great drawings for block 98. When finished the entire area will look spectacular. One thing is missing, The Catalyst apartment tower. Maybe it will be completely blocked from view from those angles

Block 98 looks like 40 stories, not 34, in the picture.

How close are either of these to getting a go-ahead?

I hope that these new renderings mean that Block 98 will start sooner, rather than later. I think Urbannizer posted something a while back saying that this one would be starting in 2Q 2015.

Groundbreaking for Block 98 occurs in the 2Q.

2Q or 3Q groundbreaking for The Perennial apartment tower/hotel.

I'm really loving Block 98. You're right, the rendering does look more like 40 stories than 34. Let's hope it's 40 stories. The area between Discovery Green and Minute Maid Park is rapidly filling up. Very exciting!

Either that or the 43-year-old 10-building apartment complex is undergoing a rather brutal first phase of a renovation — as portrayed in the photos shown here, which were taken late last week. The 3-story complex sits on 6-and-a-half acres between W. Alabama St. and Richmond Ave.

CWS Capital, the California real estate firm that bought the complex last March, lists a 425-unit new-construction project named Marquis at Greenway among a list of “current developments” on its website. The company operates 10 other apartment complexes that have names that begin with “Marquis” in the Houston area.
