Well, as Ray Ferraro said in the telecast, "the Jets are incapable of being boring". What a game - six straight wins in the home stand, four straight in extra time. Hat trick for Patrik L... make that ... hat trick for fourth-liner Brandon Tanev! Two reviewed goals and one big boarding major. Boston came up against the rarely seen Hargrave Street Bullies tonight.

I’m just here to let the Maple Laughs know we the Jets won again against another top tier team. 104 points now and 6 wins in a row. How’s them Leafs doing ?

My dream final would be Vancouver and Toronto one day. The banter would be out of control.

Right now the banter is just plain stupid. Jets fans need some new material.

Certain Jets fans obsession with the Leafs is tiresome.

So six straight one game win streaks?

The leafs are in the middle of a 1 night off streak.

New material?

We just post the facts. We won when some leaf fans said we wouldn’t.
Second most of western Canada is tired of how the Leafs think they are the center of the universe, we’ll except for that weird fellow from Saskatoon where they don’t even have a team........

Either way. It’s all in good fun. Hockey is Canada’s passion.

Banter is always sub-par when the two teams aren't in direct competition.

Eh. Yeah sure it's all in good fun, but Maple Laughs? So predeictable and lame, plus they're a decent team these days, so it doesn't really make sense. Now Coilers... that never gets old.

Here's something from one of my boys on the Jets HFBoard:

Here's a stat for you. In 100 years the most points the Leafs have ever achieved is 103.

Jets have 104 with 6 games remaining!

The Winnipeg Jets are Canada's team!

Holy shit this is getting old.

Comparing points before 2005 is irrelevant with the introduction of the shootout. The Leafs hit 45 wins multiple times when they still counted ties, but were obviously garbage for most years between 2006 and 2017 when point totals became inflated. It seems a large proportion of certain posters here only started paying attention to hockey in 2011.

40Gs and 102pts now.

But good lord, 7 unanswered.

Speaking for myself, I have to admit that I didn't pay any attention to the NHL during the Great Protracted Lockout or whatever it was that was going on from 1996-2011.

You totally missed some great hockey years if you weren't paying attention. Patrick Roy winning the Conn Smythe trophy in 2000-2001 was a great stab at the Montreal organization.

The three years in a row that a Canadian team fluked out in the playoffs to get to the Stanley Cup, only to lose it.

2004 - Calgary
2005, cancelled because, you know, Gary
2006 - Edmonton
2007 - Ottawa

As a fan of Canada and hockey in general, It was a great time.

Saw a post that Henrik Lundqvist is playing in his first ever regular season game where the Rangers are mathematically eliminated. Pretty crazy given how long he's been there. With the Rangers window officially shut for the foreseeable future, I wonder how long he has left.

It's a shame, he is one of those players I always hoped would get a cup before he retired.

That's what happens when your team misses the playoffs only once in the previous 12 years, and they missed it by just a single point down to the wire.

Kinda like Nicklas Lidstrom who played his whole 20 year career with the Red Wings and has never failed to advance to the playoffs. Imagine 20 years without having to clean out your locker at the end of regular season.

Yeah, him and Luongo both deserved better. Both so personable and easy to like in their play and off the ice.

No the Canucks and their fans deserved better, Luongo single-handedly lost the Stanley Cup with his horrid play but still gets to retire a multi-millionaire.

Speaking of Luongo, here's a terrific article by Bruce Arthur on him from yesterday:

https://www.thestar.com/sports/hocke...-children.html

It's wholly unfair to blame Luongo alone for losing the 2011 SCF. Thomas had a 37-save shutout in the final.
