Just for fun, here's the previous 2009/2010 winter (no more charts after this... I promise! )

And yes, great photos, four oh four!

And we in no way associate with the Midwest. We consider ourselves Front Range or Mountain West if anything.
As I promised

A crappy rushed pic of my own.

I bet you haven't even seen these new towers, poconoboy61.

Here are some more angles as evidence.

And theres more. But I'll leave that up to you to discover. I think it's safe to say our skyline has changed.

Session over.

The winters ARE cold and snowy.

It's a great climate the rest of the year though, I agree. I don't care how high the thermometer goes in summer, there is no humidity so it never gets very uncomfortable. 100 in Denver is better than 80 in the midwest, south, or east coast.
It doesn't snow once a week from October to March. That's pretty misleading. We can go for weeks without any precipitation at all. Like last Winter. I had to actually water my grass and bushes.

Denver climate is very changeable. We do get blizzards every once in a while too.

However it's all very bearable because of the sun and the snow doesn't stick around for weeks like it does back east or midwest. It can snow 11 inches and then in two days it's all gone.

I think Denver is the perfect city to live in, surrounded by mountains
Not really surrounded by mountains, its just the westside where the foothills begin, theres high bluffs on the southside on the way to Castle Rock and the Springs.

Btw great photos, your friend Kevin I think lives near 13th and Race St in the Cheesman Park neigborhood, kinda interesting because I had a friend named Kevin who lived in a highrise right in that area sometime back...

Last year may well become more the norm, as we move into a continuing global warming trend. But yes, that chart shows how mixed the weather is during the winter in Denver. It's not days and days straight of cloudy cool, damp, snowy weather. The snow systems bust through fast. Very cold Canadian air moves through at times, but then warm desert southwest air, also moves up in from Arizona/New Mexico.

Also, here are a couple pano's done by TheDirt, showcasing Denver's skyline from another view.
Many of the buildings from about middle left, are newer construction.

Denver is a great city with awesome natural scenery so close to the city.

You guys sound like Phoenicians saying it really isn't that hot because ______. Denver has a cold climate during the winter months.

Because it is located in a continental climate zone, the difference between daily highs and lows is extreme. The low's are frigid and in the winter time, when the sun sets at 4pm, most of the day is cold. When the sun is out, it feels warm, however, with the long shadows from buildings and trees, it is cold. When the wind is factored in, which in every CBD is accelerated, it can feel very cold on a 43F day.
