It's those concrete looking midrises to the left that should disappear.
The concrete 20-storeys slab to the left of of the v is already set to be demolished and replace by a 32 glass tower.

eureka tower

is it just me, or as the mariott hotel get nearer and nearer to completion, it looks more and more like the eureka tower? The color choice looks incredibly similar!

I must agree with yara. The Eureka tower is an eccentric and world class skyscraper, Le V, well, ain't.

merci de m'accepter sur votre page d'ailleurs! And no I didn't smoke anything in particular to see this resemblance.
The only reason why I paid such remark is because of the high resemblance in color! The last time i have been to melbourne, I became very intrigued by the tower because of the special color of the windows which you don't see on every building. And now when I bring back my memories to mind and see the Mariott tower being built in my favorite city, i think to myself, "La couleur des fenêtres sont proches en tabarnak!"

I thought a new tower will be built on top of the existing structure; which will renovated?

There was talk before, about integrating the old building into the new project, but that idea has been scrapped. Now the existing building will be demolished.
