Japan is normally not associated with noisy touts that show some aggressiveness and approach you, but this part of touristy Osaka is not really Japan. The outdoor signs are quite interesting but it is hard to have a good time in the crowd.

Crab is not exactly a specialty in Osaka. I prefer going to Hokkaido where they originate from. Thanks to Abenomics that brought about the yen's devaluation and a recession again right now, eating out in Japan is and will continue to be a budget traveller's paradise!

Tourists tend to forget that Osaka is also a waterfront city, but it seems the attractions are all inland and enjoying spaces like these are not common.
The aquarium in the background is a neat building to explore, but yes, the 'waterfront' is very limited and quite industrial.
