IMO this is a good move. When I first saw the girls at a hockey game in the aisles I didn't think it was a good match for Hockey.

Fantastic move on the part of the U of A Pandas women's hockey and the U of A in general to promote and strengthen female elite hockey in the Edmonton area. This will hopefully raise the bar province wide and maybe we will see something similar in other centres that host teams.

Big thumbs up to U of A.

In unsurprising news, Oilers name McDavid captain which makes him the youngest captain ever in the NHL.

Not sure I agree with giving Lucic an 'A' before he's even played a game for the Oilers.

Lucic 'A' is good imo.

Eberle 'A' is unnecessary, his should have went to Hendricks. Eberle doesn't look like the type to command and motivate (maybe I'm biased due to his lazy eye.. lol I kid I kid). And they got a Captain and two 'A's on one line? that's kinda stupid imo.

You mean D or enforcer? lol

At D I'd make Klefbom 'A', I got high hopes for him.

Oilers trade Nail Yakupov to St Louis Blues for 2017 conditional third-round draft pick & Zach Pochiro. The draft pick becomes a second-round pick in 2018 if Yakupov scores 15 or more goals during the 2016-17 season. No salary retained. Media pundits are also hearing that they are about to sign RHD Kris Russell.

Kris Russell $3.1 million for one year, I like both moves. I think Fayne is on his way out, amazing how much this team has changed since Chia started.

As an Oiler fan, I hope both he and Pitlick have left their injury prone past behind them. Different expect roles for each, but both have talent impeded by that sort of bad luck stretch.
