Why are they going to cut down the trees T-Mac? They've made it this far without removing them.

From what they have said, the trees have been a pain for working around and with the building getting ready to shoot skyward they are going to need that area for staging equipment and for access to the site. The permits have already been signed by the city and they are just waiting for someone to come and cut them down.

I would imagine that they will be replaced when the building is finished.

Thanks for the pics and welcome to the forum. Its great to have this view of the site. Those pics look to be taken this morning, is that correct? That cement truck is for the spray of the side-walls I believe.

Why is it they are spraying cement on the walls rather than pouring the cement in forms? Anybody know?

Yep, that was about 10:30AM today. I thought it might be fun to take a shot each week and have a time-lapse thing, but it looks like we're moving to a different office some time this summer...

I will try to remember and ask next time I'm down at the site.

Thanks T-Mac, it would be good to know because you see them pouring all the walls over at CCC so it seems odd to spray the walls on.

even if you move keep it up until then. Nobody here will complain even if it was only a few months.

They are gunning all shotcrete walls from the bottom to the top because this acceptable by design. In additional, they do not need to make boxes, and it is probably save some time.

Quick little update from today. One of the trees in front of the site is now gone.

Lunch break from spraying.

Is that spray like what they use on the side of canyon roads to hold back the rocks? Odd...

Probably very similiar if not the same thing. On the last photo you can see where they have sprayed right behind the hoses and just above them. The construction guys said that after they finish spraying they smooth it down to give it a nice edge.

Oh yeah, they have to. The city is very particular about trees downtown. They will also have to replace the granite pavers.
